Ecclestone threatens Monza with drop

Red Bull/Getty Images Bernie Ecclestone has hinted that the Italian Grand Prix may not remain at Monza after the 2016 campaign. The Italian Grand Prix has been held at Monza every year - aside from 1980 - but Ecclestone is unhappy with the current set-up. "I don't think we'll do another contract, the old one was a disaster for us from a commercial point of view. After 2016, bye bye," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. The Formula 1 supremo believes that Ferrari's dwindling fortunes are affecting viewers in the country. "TV ratings are lower in Italy than elsewhere," he said.
