Fernandes hints at Formula 1 exit

Caterham F1 Team Caterham owner Tony Fernandes has hinted that he is set to depart Formula 1 after four-and-a-half years in charge of his team. Fernandes, who also owns AirAsia and Premier League club QPR, closed his personal Twitter account on Friday, with the message 'F1 hasn't worked, but love Caterham Cars'. Fernandes's squad entered the sport in 2010 as Lotus Racing before morphing into Team Lotus and its current guise, Caterham. The team finished in 10th place in its first three years of competition but slipped behind Marussia in 2013, a feat it looks set to repeat this year after their rivals collected two points in Monaco.
