Rosberg heads Hamilton in Austria

CLICK HERE for full FP1 times. Nico Rosberg set the fastest time of the first free practice session for the Austrian Grand Prix, beating Lewis Hamilton by 0.140s. On F1's return to Austria, Rosberg set a time of 1:11.295 to edge out his team-mate as the field was more closely matched around the 4.3km circuit. Fernando Alonso was third quickest – just 0.3s off Rosberg – with Felipe Massa also within half a second of the Mercedes. Jenson Button was fifth fastest having topped the timesheets for a while in the middle of the session, with McLaren testing a number of new parts on the MP4-29.
