Perez could escape penalty as FIA launches review

Sergio Perez could have his Canadian Grand Prix penalty dropped after the FIA confirmed it would renew the decision to award him a five-place penalty for the Austrian GP this weekend. The Force India driver was blamed for moving off the racing line and taking Felipe Massa by surprise which caused the pair to tangle and end up in the barriers on the final lap of the race. However Force India has written to the FIA with what it believes is new evidence which confirms Perez wasn't to blame, whilst raising the point that the Canadian stewards never interviewed the Mexican as he was in hospital.
