Pace of development encouraging - Button

Getty Images Enlarge Jenson Button admits he is encouraged by the fact McLaren has matched the development rate of the teams around it on the grid this season. Since seeing both cars finish on the podium in Australia McLaren's form has dropped off, though the double-points finish in Monaco ended three straight scoreless races for the team. After spending the two previous races fighting for scraps outside of the points it was refreshing for Button to see an improvement in Monaco, something he thinks is proof the team is developing at a healthy rate this season.
