Rosberg under investigation after controversial Monaco GP pole

Nico Rosberg’s Monaco Grand Prix pole position is under threat, after it was confirmed that the race stewards will investigate the nature of the German’s off at Mirabeau in the dying moments of the session. Rosberg, at that point on provisional pole, locked-up and ran wide into the slip road at Mirabeau on what was his final run of the session. As a result of Rosberg’s error, the yellow flags were deployed in that sector of the track, which forced Lewis Hamilton, also on his final lap, to back off, despite having been a few hundredths of a second up on the German’s best time, which in effect secured pole for Rosberg.
