Mercedes announces 'long-term' Petronas partnership extension

Mercedes has officially announced a 'long-term extension' to its partnership with Malaysian national oil and gas company Petronas. The new deal was confirmed during a press conference in Monaco on Friday. It was attended by Petronas president and group CEO Tan Sri Dato' Shamsul Azhar Abbas, Dr Dieter Zetsche – chairman of the board of management, Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz cars – and head of Mercedes-Benz motorsport, Toto Wolff. The partnership between Mercedes and Petronas started in 2010, when the Silver Arrows returned to the grid as a works team for the first time since 1955.
