Mercedes quiet on Rosberg reports

Mercedes has refused to confirm reports Nico Rosberg has signed an extension to his current deal with the team. Rosberg joined Mercedes in 2010 and at the end of 2011 he inked a new 'multi-year' contract extension to include 'the 2013 season and beyond'. It is understood that deal expires at the end of this year, but BBC Sport claims he has now signed an extension of at least two more years. A spokesperson for Mercedes, however, refused to comment on that when contacted by Crash.net. The spokesperson merely said that the team's official position is that we have 'long term relationships with [both of] our drivers', adding that it is not policy to discuss such matters.
