Ricciardo came within half a second of Lewis Hamilton's benchmark time as he finished third in FP1, though the rain shower after that session meant the afternoon was limited in its usefulness, with traffic on his final run limiting him to ninth. Ricciardo now believes it is crucial Red Bull takes full advantage of the unique rest day on Friday in Monte Carlo to ensure it arrives ready to challenge for pole on Saturday....
