Hamilton named world's most marketable athlete
Getty Images Enlarge Championship leader Lewis Hamilton has been named the world's most marketable athlete by SportsPro magazine. Hamilton beat off the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and MotoGP champion Marc Marquez to top the list, which the magazine puts down to his "maturing" nature, his relationship with Nicole Scherzinger and his seven-figrure social media following on Twitter. The 2014 list is the fifth compiled by the magazine, and uses a system called Davie-Brown Index (DBI), which measures consumer perception of athletes in the world of sport.
