Power unit issue hampered qualifying for Magnussen

BARCELONA, 11th May 2014 (F1 Plus / Rosie Baillie) - A power unit issue brought qualifying to an early end for Kevin Magnussen in Barcelona. The Dane retired during Q2 and later confirmed that had an issue with the power unit during Q1 which they couldn't fix and decided it was best to retire the car in the second session. “I don’t exactly know what the problem was with my car. We had an issue with the power unit during Q1 that we tried to fix.” Magnussen said. “But, in Q2, we decided to save the engine and retire the car.” McLaren Racing Director Eric Boullier said he had no doubt Magnussen would have got through to Q3, like teammate Jenson Button, had he not had an issue....
