Rosberg leads Hamilton as Mercedes sweeps practice

Nico Rosberg emerged as the fastest driver in the third and final practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix on Friday edging his dominant teammate Lewis Hamilton by a considerable margin. Rosberg was eight-tenths quicker than Hamilton and a whopping 1.3 seconds faster than the Ferrari of Fernando Alonso, who slotted in third in front of his home fans. The gap between the Mercedes pair suggests that Hamilton didn’t set a quick time. Williams’ Felipe Massa was fourth ahead of Romain Grosjean, whose Lotus has appeared to have found enough reliability and pace to score the team’s first points of the season this weekend.
