Vergne docked ten places for wheel incident

Toro Rosso driver Jean-Eric Vergne has been given a ten-place grid penalty at the Spanish Grand Prix for a breach of regulations when a wheel came off his car following a pit stop during Friday's practice. The right rear wheel of Vergne's car flew off just after taking Turn 1 near the end of the second practice session. Race stewards also gave Toro Rosso a 30,000 euro ($41,000) fine for what they called a 'significant break of the safety requirements.' Toro Rosso's head of vehicle performance, Laurent Mekies, says 'luckily no one was injured. We have to understand exactly what went wrong and make sure we can correct that for tomorrow.' The race is on Sunday after Saturday's qualifying.
