P1: Hamilton sets early pace

Lewis Hamilton was fastest in first practice for the Spanish Grand Prix on Friday morning ahead of Jenson Button and Daniel Ricciardo.The Mercedes driver lapped the 4.655km Circuit de Catalunya in a time of 1:27.023s to go 0.868s faster than Button, with Ricciardo less than a tenth further back. It was a difficult session for Hamilton and Ricciardo's respective team-mates, however, with both Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg only managing a limited amount of running. Vettel completed just four laps before stopping at Turn 4 after his Red Bull developed an electrical problem. Rosberg, meanwhile, completed nine laps before an overheating ERS left the Mercedes driver stranded in his garage....
