Renault sure of 'closer' engine performance
– Renault is certain that it has cut the gap to engine rivals Mercedes and Ferrari ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. The French manufacturer has struggled to match its German and Italian counterparts following a torrid pre-season test period, with its new power unit reigned back over the first four races to boost reliability. But Head of Track Operations Rémi Taffin says the company is continuing to move in the right direction. "While there are not many visible hardware upgrades, there are significant improvements to the software that should further enhance driveability and therefore overall performance," Taffin said.
