Renault pleased with engine improvements

Red Bull/Getty Images Renault has made progress with their power unit ahead of this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, according to head of track operations Remi Taffin. Renault has been on the back foot for much of the season but Taffin believes that their four customer teams have received an improvement in grip and traction, especially at low speed. "The cold temperature has made things a bit more interesting," said Taffin. "Even though lower temps do not change engine settings and fuel consumption this year, unlike with the V8s, it does make the cars move around a lot more, particularly with the harder tyre compound.
