FIA: Teams still committed to cost reduction

The FIA has insisted the teams in F1 remain committed to 'cost reduction', following the latest meeting of the World Motor Sport Council.Over the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend FIA president Jean Todt said the proposed cost cap for F1 was going to be dropped due to the objections of a number of teams.However, despite that, it seems 'cost reduction' - as opposed to any cap - is still something the sport wants to pursue, although in what form is unclear.“The FIA, the Commercial Rights Holder (CRH), and all the F1 Teams have recently confirmed their commitment to work on cost reduction,” read the statement issued after the WMSC meeting in Marrakech today.“Accordingly, the FIA President Jean...
