Gutierrez released from hospital after precautionary checks
Esteban Gutierrez has been released from hospital after precautionary examinations following a crash with Pastor Maldonado during the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The Mexican driver was entering turn one when he was hit by Maldonado, who had just emerged from the pit lane.
The contact pitched Gutierrez into a violent roll. After landing back on the track, he managed to get out of the car before visiting the Bahrain International Circuit medical centre. He was then taken to hospital for checks.
Sauber has now confirmed that he has been released from hospital and emerged unscathed from the scary accident.
