Sutil penalised for qualifying incident

Adrian Sutil has been handed a five-place grid penalty for impeding Romain Grosjean during qualifying for the 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix. The German driver was eliminated in the first session and originally qualified in 18th place. However, he will now start from 22nd and last on the grid. Sutil edged Grosjean off the track and onto the run-off area on the approach to turn 14 as the pair attempted to improve their lap times in Q1. The stewards deemed that he 'forced car eight [Grosjean] off the track between turns 13 and 14 in an unsafe manner' following an investigation after qualifying.
