Ecclestone believes US team may join grid in 2015/16

April 3, 2014 (F1plus / Rosie Baillie) - Bernie Ecclestone believes Gene Haas team may be given the green light to join Formula One, though the FIA are yet to confirm anything. After the FIA opened up applications for new teams to join Haas, co-owner of NASCAR team Stewart-Haas Racing, put forward an application which Ecclestone feels will be accepted. "I think Haas will be accepted," Ecclestone told UK newspaper The Independent. "They have got the money but it's a question of whether they are going to spend it."
