Abu Dhabi chief backs double points

As F1 adjusts to the new 2014 regulations, Abu Dhabi's chief executive has defended the new double-points rule that will be used at the season finale. This season marks the beginning of a new era for Formula One with 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engines now powering the cars. The quieter engines have not gone down well with some fans, many of whom are also against awarding double points at the season finale. However, Al Tareq al-Ameri, chief of executive of Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina circuit, is confident it will add to the excitement.
