Alonso and Kvyat cleared by stewards
The stewards have cleared Fernando Alonso and Daniil Kvyat of any wrongdoing after the pair collided during qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
Kvyat attempted to overtake the two-time world champion at turn nine in the early stages of Q2 but they made contact. Alonso's suspension was damaged but the Ferrari team managed to swiftly repair the car.
Both drivers were cleared of any fault. 'The Stewards do not believe either driver were wholly or predominately to blame for the incident,' the stewards report read.
Alonso managed to qualify fourth for Sunday's race despite a steering problem that was caused by the clash. 'In a season when it takes a lot of time to make any sort of change...
