Kobayashi: Q2 'a good reward' after Friday problems
Kamui Kobayashi says making it through to the second qualifying session was 'a good reward' for Caterham after the problems that the team suffered on Friday.
Despite proving to be the most reliable Renault-powered team of winter testing, Kobayashi managed just one lap during Friday practice. His team-mate Marcus Ericsson didn't fare much better, completing just one installation lap in both sessions.
After a difficult Friday at the Albert Park Circuit, Kobayashi put in a strong performance in tricky conditions to make it through to the second qualifying session and set the 15th fastest time. He has been promoted one position on Sunday's grid thanks to a gearbox penalty for Valtteri Bottas....
