Ricciardo elated with maiden front row start

Red Bull/Getty Images Daniel Ricciardo could barely contain his excitement after setting the second fastest time during qualifying for the Australian Grand Prix. Ricciardo set the provisional pole position time during the closing moments of a wet session but he was narrowly edged out by Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton. It was Ricciardo's best qualifying result in his Formula 1 career on his first outing for Red Bull. "It was exciting out there – the weather definitely added to the mix and the whole session went well," he said.
