Bahrain first corner to be named after Schumacher

Bahrain Grand Prix organisers have confirmed that the first corner of the Bahrain International Circuit will be named after Michael Schumacher. The seven-time world champion remains in a coma at the Grenoble University Hospital following a skiing accident in the French Alps at the end of last year. He won the inaugural Bahrain GP in 2004 and still holds the lap record. He was also directly involved in the development of the track in the early stages, including the layout of the first turn.
