New Lotus E22 gets first miles at Jerez

– Lotus is completing the first tentative mileage with its new E22 at the Circuito de Jerez on Friday. The Enstone-based outfit, which was the only team absent from last week's opening pre-season test at the Andalusian venue to prolong car development, has chosen to carry out one of its permitted filming days. Pastor Maldonado is in action, but he must not rack up more than 100km and has to use Pirelli demo tyres. A Lotus spokesman confirmed to GPUpdate.net on Thursday afternoon that the team's latest design will be officially presented at the start of the second pre-season test in Bahrain, which runs from February 19-22.
