Raikkonen tops subdued first day of testing

Scuderia Ferrari Kimi Raikkonen topped the first day of winter testing at a subdued Jerez. As Formula 1 entered into a new era, several teams encountered issues with their new cars. Pacesetter Raikkonen stopped the F14 T on its first lap out on track, while Force India's Sergio Perez encountered similar difficulties. Lewis Hamilton was the morning pacesetter in his Mercedes W05 and had completed more laps than any of his rivals when his front wing failed on the pit straight. Hamilton was powerless to prevent his car from crashing into the barriers, which curtailed his running for the day after 18 laps.
