2014 McLaren passes crash tests

McLaren has confirmed that its 2014 challenger, the MP4-29, has passed all the mandatory FIA crash tests. It will be launched online on January 24th ahead of the first winter test at the Jerez circuit in Spain. Concerns were raised after it emerged last week that their new car had failed the crash tests. However, just three days before the official launch, the team confirmed on Twitter that the MP4-29 had passed. A new car must pass the mandatory crash tests before it is allowed to run on track. Jenson Button will be partnered at the team this season by rookie Kevin Magnussen, who replaces Force India-bound Sergio Perez. Image courtesy of Octane Photographic
