Williams fire up the brand new Mercedes powered FW36 19 January, 2014 Mercedes V6 turbo F1 engine (File Photo) While teams in a race against time to be ready for the opening day of 2014 Formula 1 testing a Jerez, some even missing it altogether, Williams appear to be well on course as they fired up the Mercedes V6 turbo engine bolted into the new FW36 on Saturday. The team reported on Twitter: 'Frank in race bay this evening as the FW36 fires up for the first time! 2014 starts here……' Williams will depend on Mercedes turbo power in 2014 and beyond, after two seasons (2012-2013) with Renault engines.
