Bernie faces bribery trial

Bernie Ecclestone will be back in the dock in April to answer changes of bribery in a Munich court. After months of speculation, a Munich count confirmed on Thursday that the FIA supremo would face charges. "Under current planning, the main trial should start in late April," said in a statement. The charge of bribery relates to the sale of F1 to CVC during which time Ecclestone is alleged to have paid a bribe to German banker Gerhard Gribkowsky. Gribkowsky is already serving eight-and-a-half years having been found guilty of accepting a bribe and tax fraud. Ecclestone, however, has always maintained his innocence, insisting he didn't pay a bribe but rather a shake-down.
