Brawn confirms six-month sabbatical

Ross Brawn confirmed on Friday that he will take a sabbatical of six months before making any decision about a possible return to Formula One. The out-going Mercedes boss, who was instrumental in Michael Schumacher's success at Benneton and Ferrari, will officially leave the Brackley team on December 31, 2013, ending 35 years of involvement in the sport. "I am refusing to discuss any possible future positions until at least next summer," Brawn told the BBC. "I want to clear my mind, take a rest and then decide if I want to return to F1, subject of course to any opportunities existing."
