FIA outlines gearbox and power-unit penalties for 2014
The FIA has outlined the gearbox and engine penalty system for the 2014 season after publishing next year's Sporting and Technical Regulations.
Teams will have fewer engines and gearboxes available next season, but the penalty systems have changed quite considerably due to the new V6 Turbo power-unit.
Next year drivers will have to use a gearbox for six consecutive races, as opposed to five races this year. However, for 2014 only teams will not have to provide evidence of physical damage in order to change the gears and dog rings.
