Vettel: Double points idea absurd

Four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel has lashed out at rulemakers' decision to award double points for the final race of the season. As of 2014, the winning driver and team at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will each get 50 points instead of the usual 25 as the FIA looks "to maximise focus on the Championship until the end of the campaign". The organisation hopes to avoid repeats of the 2011 and 2013 seasons when Vettel and his Red Bull team won the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships with quite a few races still left.
