Double points introduced for season finale; driver numbers confirmed

Red Bull/Getty Images The FIA has announced that double points will be awarded during the final race of the season, effective from the start of 2014. The resulting changes means that 50 points will be allocated to the winner of the final round of 2014, which will be held in Abu Dhabi. ‘Double drivers’ and constructors’ points will be awarded at the final race of the Formula One season in order to maximise focus on the Championship until the end of the campaign', read an FIA statement. Driver numbers have also been introduced. ‘Drivers will be asked to choose their race number, between 2 and 99, for the duration of their career in the FIA Formula One World Championship....
