McLaren: Merc will be strongest

Martin Whitmarsh reckons the Mercedes team could have the advantage next season - even over Red Bull Racing. Next year's Championship will see the introduction of the 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engines which are expected to shake up the field. Whitmarsh, however, believes the swap will hand the advantage to Mercedes as not only did they have a strong 2013 campaign but they also design their own engines. He told Autosport: "Anyone who says at any team, even Red Bull, that they are super confident they are going to win the World Championship, you cannot be.
