19-race calendar for 2014
The Formula 1 calendar will stay at 19 races for the 2014 season after New Jersey, Mexico and Korea all failed to make the final cut.All three events had been included on a provisional calendar issued by the FIA in September but they had all had dropped off a subsequent draft list circulated amongst the teams at the final grands prix of the season.
While the proposed Grand Prix of America in New Jersey, having already been postponed by one year, and a return to Mexico were always considered unlikely given the state of both venue's preparations, Korea's fall off the definitive list after four seasons is likely to owe to financial reasons at the little-used Yeongnam circuit.
