Bottas: 'Williams was always the only option for me'
Valtteri Bottas says he didn't speak to any other teams to negotiate a drive for the 2014 season, as Williams was 'always the only option' for him.
The Finn has been part of the Grove-based outfit since 2010, when he joined as their test driver. He completed 15 first practice sessions for the team in 2012 before being promoted to a race seat for 2013.
It was a difficult rookie year for the 24-year-old due to the tricky FW35. However, he consistently matched his more experienced team-mate and scored his first points at the penultimate race of the season, six days after the team announced that he would stay with them for 2014.
