Ecclestone says Alonso wanted to leave Ferrari

Bernie Ecclestone says he's been disappointed to see Fernando Alonso give up "a little" during the 2013 season after the Spaniard was once again resigned to finishing second behind Sebastian Vettel. The 82-year-old says it's a clear sign that Alonso was looking to escape Ferrari at the end of the year - something which was rumoured after he was publicly scolded by president Luca di Montezemolo. "I've been a little disappointed in Fernando, because I'm a big supporter of him and Ferrari," wrote Ecclestone in a foreword to the official season review.
