Whitmarsh 'happy' Perez will remain in F1
McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh says he is 'happy' that Sergio Perez looks set to remain in Formula 1 for the 2014 season. The Mexican driver was dropped by the team for 2014 and will be replaced by Formula Renault 3.5 championship Kevin Magnussen.
The Woking-based outfit have tried to encourage several teams to sign Perez for next year. Their attempts look to have paid off as the 23-year-old is believed to be extremely close to signing a deal with Force India.
