Whitmarsh happy Perez will stay in F1

Associated Press Enlarge Martin Whitmarsh says he is pleased Sergio Perez will stay in Formula One next season, with a move to Force India heavily rumoured. Perez was dropped by McLaren in favour of Kevin Magnussen in 2014, with the move announced ahead of the United States Grand Prix. In the week that followed, Perez became very confident he will remain in Formula One - despite no deal having yet been announced - and Whitmarsh says his impressive drive to sixth place in Brazil proves he deserves another seat.
