Practice 1: Mercedes on top

Mercedes ran one-two in opening practice for the Brazilian Grand Prix, with Nico Rosberg leading Lewis Hamilton in wet conditions at Interlagos.Both drivers overcame early spins adjusting to the damp conditions but soon moved to the top of the timesheets and stayed there for the remainder of the 90-minute session. Rosberg set a lap of 1:24.781s to go almost half-a-second faster than Hamilton but the times were about 10s slower than the corresponding P1 session 12 months ago. The drizzly conditions were not sufficient for full wet-weather tyres but with the weather forecast for the rest of the weekend similarly changeable, there was plenty of running.
