Perez expected more than seventh

Sergio Perez admits he was expecting to achieve 'a little bit more' than seventh place in the United States Grand Prix. However, he was thankful for the support from the Mexican fans over a difficult ‘home' race weekend. The 23-year-old managed to get the jump on Fernando Alonso at the start but felt that he suffered more than most with tyre wear in the opening stint. 'To be honest, I was expecting to achieve a little bit more than seventh today,' he said. 'On the opening lap, I managed to push past Fernando [Alonso], and the car initially felt pretty strong.
