Vergne demoted after collision with Gutierrez

In the aftermath of another truly dominant display by Sebastian Vettel at the Circuit of the Americas, Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne was handed a twenty-second penalty for his collision with Sauber's Esteban Gutierrez as the pair touched wheels on the last lap.  The French driver, who remains with the Faenze-based team for next season alongside newcomer Daniil Kvyat, was demoted to sixteenth place behind Gutierrez as a result of the incident between the pair, even though he finished twelfth as the chequered flag was waved in Austin. The stewards deemed that Vergne could have used avoiding action to prevent the collision from happening, so was given the equivalent of a drive-through...
