Maldonado accuses Williams of favourtism, car tampering
Not convinced that he could be eliminated in Q1 while his teammate made it into qualifying’s final shootout, Pastor Maldonado accused Williams of favouring Valtteri Bottas at the United States Grand Prix on Saturday. Maldonado is set to leave Williams at the end of the season, along with his lucrative PDVSA sponsorship deal, leaving the rookie Finn to partner Felipe Massa in 2014. During qualifying in Austin, the Venezuelan got eliminated in Q1 and will start Sunday’s race in 18th while Bottas proceeded into Q3 for the second time this season and qualified ninth.
