Vettel edges Webber to claim pole for U.S. GP

Sebastian Vettel is on course to win his eighth straight race of the season after he claimed pole position for the United States Grand Prix on Saturday, edging Red Bull teammate Mark Webber for the top spot. The four-time world champion produced a quick time in the final sector, while the Australian admittedly messed it up in the final two turns to lose out on the top spot by a tenth. Vettel’s time of 1 minute 36.338 seconds was eight-tenths quicker than Lotus’ Romain Grosjean, who qualified third.
