Alonso passes medical test at Austin
Fernando Alonso has passed medical checks at the Circuit of The Americas, officially clearing the Ferrari driver to take part in this weekend's United States Grand Prix. Alonso has been suffering from back pain since his involvement in an incident with Toro Rosso rival Jean-Éric Vergne at the Yas Marina Circuit. While battling for position, the Spaniard was forced onto the kerbs, where he experienced a huge 25G impact. On the evening of the race, Alonso underwent a precautionary exam at a nearby hospital, and has since had further tests.
