Kvyat meets Super Licence standard ahead of Austin FP1 run

Toro Rosso have confirmed that their 2014 signing Daniil Kvyat will be able to drive in opening practice at this weekend’s 2013 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix as planned, after meeting the requirements for his F1 Super License.Kvyat, recently crowned 2013 GP3 Series champion, covered just over 400 kilometres in a test at Italy’s Misano circuit last Friday, driving a two-year-old Toro Rosso STR6 as part of a filming day organised by the team. It means the 19-year-old Russian, who will replace the Red Bull-bound Daniel Ricciardo at Toro Rosso next season, is now free to pilot future team mate Jean-Eric Vergne’s car for FP1 in Austin.
