Newey admits 2013 development has harmed preparation for 2014
Adrian Newey had admitted that Red Bull Racing’s focus on securing the two 2013 championships has side-tracked the development of the team’s 2014 challenger. Sebastian Vettel’s victory at the Indian Grand Prix last month secured both a fourth drivers’ title for himself, as well as a fourth constructors’ championship for the Red Bull team.
Newey, Red Bull’s Chief Technical Officer, confessed that the team’s move to counter the threat of both Ferrari and Mercedes during the season had diverted attention from the development of next year’s car.
