Ecclestone in the dock over 'corrupt bargain'

Sutton Images Enlarge Bernie Ecclestone has appeared at the High Court in London to defend himself over an alleged "corrupt payment". Ecclestone is appearing as a witness in a case brought against him and three other defendants by Constantin Medien - the German media company which claims its shares in the Formula One Group were undervalued when they were sold in 2006. Constantin Medien is suing for up to $144 million. The case opened last week and on the opening day Philip Marshall QC, representing Constantin Medien, accused Ecclestone of making a "corrupt bargain" with German banker Gerhard Gribkowsky during the sale as Ecclestone sought to retain a "position...
