Button: Perez deserves his place

Jenson Button has backed team-mate Sergio Perez to remain at McLaren next season, saying he deserves his place. Joining McLaren at the start of this season, Perez has struggled to match Button's on-track performances, scoring just 33 points to the Brit's 60. However, last time out in India, the Mexican driver put in a much-improved performance and brought his McLaren in fifth place. "He deserves to be here next year," Button told the official F1 website. "He is very quick, has good pace and he proved that all weekend in India. "For the whole team it was a very promising weekend, even more so for Checo and his future in the team."
